So, I recently tried to rip an audio cd on my xbox, but it is unable to read the CD. I've tried multiple CD's, with none of them reading correctly. Games/DVD's seem to read fine, however. Is there a way to fix this? It is a softmodded 1.4 xbox, with UnleashX installed.

Open up the drive and clean the laser using a cotton swap + alcohol. If that fails, try adjusting the potentiometer with a multimeter. Certain drives have separate potentiometers for CD/DVD. If that fails, you'll probably need a new drive.

I agree - most of my xbox drive-related problems have been solved by pulling the console apart, giving it a quick clean with some cotton swabs and compressed air, and putting it back together.

Try a CDRW, depending on your DVD-ROM drive, it won't always read original media for some reason. Lasers were picky.

    It's a burned CD-R

Would trying a CD-RW instead make any difference?
