Hi guys real quick Q I have a xbox 1.0 board with a W49F020t 1mb its not the 256kb sized chip as per raincoats config as the TSOP is a full sized chip like on all 1.0/1.1 boards i was wondering will hexen/raincoat flash this chip being bigger then 256kb as per its config or am i screwed due to a oddball board also both write enable points are soldered with good continuity so....
wierd i never knew that the 1.0 had a 256kb TSOP chip release so i should be ok flashing ind 5004... ? and if it bricks then chipping is my best bet ?
I believe flashing with EVOX will resize the ROM anyway? I've put 256k ROM on my 1.1 and worked just fine. Some could probably verify this though, haven't done it in a long time.
the TSOP chip is the same size and pin count as the other 1mb TSOP chips thats what has me worried about flashing a 256kb bios also do u have a guide for that evox resizing method?
sweet and i got it to finally flash turned out that the flasher i was using thought it was winbond n after messing with another version of raincoat the flash id turned out to be a ST chip wierd @_@
IF is really ST 1mb flash with hexen and is a 1mb tsop you can flash a 512k bios xecuter 5035 is the best in my opinion for 1.0'1.1,and ind 'bios 5004.67 is good, both bioses can be edited using file and a application and both support 128mb ram.old raincoat and gentoox' is used for winbond 256k tsops and Sharp 1mb tsops and not resize the bios so using raincoat or gentoox the bios size must be the correct, Evox flasher resize the bios. Diferences Winbond and Sharp 1mb tsops need to use raincoat or gentoox with the correct size bios to flash correctly raincoat and gentoox not resize bios, it erase the tsop by block erasing and not like Evox. Evox flasher can flash the other brands of tsops and can resize a 256k bios bin or 512k bios bin to fill a 1mb tsop or 256k non winbond, it erase the tsop by chip erase.
