I have a UK Xbox360 which I brought to the US, after a few months I got 3 rings of death - detailed error msg said it was power supply. I replaced power with an Intec power supply($90). A month later I got same problem.

I gave up. Until last week that is when I bought a new Xbox360 - Halo3 edition(benq drive...:) ). I've plugged it's power supply into my original one and it works!

So my UK Xbox 360 is eating and destroying power supplies....any ideas?

How can a Xbox eat power supplies like that...maybe I'm just unlucky...

For the love of all that's good in this world tell me it's a self switching PSU, or that you have a transformer...

My 1st 360 'ate' a PSU, I think due to spiking (as the T.V on the same circuit also conked out at roughly the same time), try using a surge protector.

...Even though M$ don't recommend using a surge protector, I in fact use 2 of them inline, and have not had an issue ;)

Also, if your electrical supply is so flakey you might want to consider investing in a UPS. You can get them for around $60 these days and that will ensure a clean power signal to anything you plug into it (and if the power cuts then you can save your games before shutting down).

You might have bad spiking, get a power conditioner.
