xbox360 thumbsticks to repair original xbox slim thumbsticks

A while ago I bought some original XBOX slim control pads. They all needed repair, cord damage either cord wrapped too tight or jammed in a door or the like.

Most of them have badly worn thumbsticks which I would like to replace.

You can trip over XBOX360 thumbsticks, so I was wondering would they work/fit in the original XBOX slim controller.

Had a rough eye between the 2 (not really keen to dis-assemble my 360 controllers) and they seem to be the same/close.

Put simply. Yes they will fit.

People who have an eagle eye will notice the thumb sticks are thicker, and XBOX sticks are more thin. Apart from that they will work between the two. People have put even Duke sticks on 360 controllers.

 

Sweet thank you for confirming, duke sticks hey? Can you still get them new?

BTW I have not forgotten about the PSP/XBOX for you to look at for me. I will be in the process soon of modifying some spare consoles for sale to fund the memory card/your time etc. Had to wait for power supplies to finish it off.

New? I doubt it, but there's a few cheap 3rd party controllers that have them.
