Just saw this: http://gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=10358 So.. Sony don't even have their gear out there, when as we have seen, Microsoft dudes are taking home debug boxes already! I know a guy who works at a software house down in brighton, and he told me they received their new 360 kits over a month ago, to replace their g5's... Aparently they are the same 360 we are seeing MS show off, but with some extra stuff at the top for debug, and external power stuff. Anyone one else think Sony need to hurry up a bit? ...and after the Xbox Summit in Japan yesterday, it looks like they have some top names on board this time around.
yea its microsofts way of just beating ps3 to the punch and getting an installed user base, but will see. Seems japanese developers are embracing 360 more then the orignal xbox, buy im guessing they've been thrown some good offers from microsoft, plus i think that developers are looking for alternatives to sonys strangel hold on the market not to mention their higher development costs and such. I mean thats the only reason capcom even had the sorta first exclusives nintendo on gamecube, since, sorry forgot his name said that he was not satisfied with the ps2 and felt the cube was better to work with.
Ps3 isn't due out for ages yet. And considering it's only about 3 Month till the release of the 360 it's about fucking time MS got the final kits out.
exactly what i wanted to post. sony certainly know what they're doing, they're at their 3rd war already.
I'm not a fan of Sony or Microsoft but I'm becoming more and more interested in the 360 day by day after reading all the Japanese news. It's looking very bright but I sure hope they sort out their poroblems thatthey had with the original mamoth of a console. I'd better start saving those pennies and forget about my trip to Tokyo. Yakumo
Gotta agree with you Yakumo. Specially after reading about the next Ridge Racer on the 360. Anyway, pics of the PS3 dev kits: Pìcs were from Game Watch
current date is july 26...now lets presume that the 360 will launch on november 26, that gives you augest, september, october,november....4 months, out of this, the developers have maybe a month, maybe 2 at best left to complete their 360 titles. you have to compensate for the pressing of the game itself, getting it aprroved, marketing, which surely will take 2 months, devs say they have the beta devs which are not an exact 360, ign recently posted that the system is some 1 inch fatter and bigger all around, with a power supply 6 times the size of the n64, which would make it the siz of an 360..lol.. anyways, devs say they have had the beta since june,...and that they were 2/3's the power of the final system,.. one dev went so far as to say that they were told by ms to cover the system and only expose the power/controller ports.... now given the shite shown at e3....and 2 months..either those devs have been working night and day, and prob ably have, or we will not see the true power of the 360 until 2006....or the second generation games
Anyone else notice that this had 2 bloody power supplies!!? If its anywhere near representative of the PS3, you're not only gonna be paying through the nose for the hardware, but for the electricity too!
I might see if I can get an Xbox 360 within this year. If its not ridiculously priced. Anyone know when Gears of War is coming out? If its this year or early next, I might save up to get one.
Indeed, but dont worry! sony promised every PS3 will have a small plutonium rod included in the box :-D And GoW is TBA, maybe summer 2006
