There are 3 different types of Xbox360 Sidecars, Gen.1 - Gen.2 & for the Slim consoles the Gen.3 Today we will be taking a close look at the Gen.2 Sidecar. (exclusive to the XNA Development & Test kits) You will notice major differences on this sidecar from the older Gen.1 model (Which were the more common Grey and White Sidecars) - The internal hardware of this sidecar is exactly like the Gen.1 model, so we will not focus on that. The only differences are external, such as the plastic shell and the Metal Cage inside. The plastic shell is an entirely different mold of plastic in it's shape and design. It has a positive concavity shape, rather than negative on the older Gen.1, and is also cut in half near the top (to make the HDD more accessible) It is also noticeably taller and wider than the previous sidecar model. The sidecar still contains both the PIX and DVDEMU ports, however the plastic case covers the PIX port and makes it not accessible. You'll notice it has an extra port cut into the chassis for an Ethernet GB port (which was previously installed on prototype units) - This model also still has the GB-Ethernet board riser screw mounts, which you'll see when we show the cutout hole. Spoiler Shout out to the fine folk in the scene. @Lehvak @drahcir @XboxSurgeon @deep3r @XeDK @Digmac @Jackhead @MrMario2011 - And all the other xbox dudes, sorry i'm too lazy to type everyone lol.
I love the pics. Cringing a little from it being removed from its kit though tbh. But still, smexy ass Xbox porn at its finest.
Removed with the sweetest care i could haha. It's got undercarriage damage that wasn't even from me It was either the first owner, or the sidecar was bobbing up and down through shipping... Luckily the kit isn't for sale All the clips are minty fresh, no worries.
amazing work here my mans. Just want to add the sidecars shroud bottom plate colored changes between the prototype version's (2,3 and 4 [Assuming 4 uses the same color, which would make sense if they did]) and "final" versions: expo and finals. The prototype sidecar bottom plates get it molded in the same color as the xna version 2 prototype gen2 sidecar, which is a very deep blue. Where as the "finals" (I use quotes because relative to XNA history Expos and Final kits are the two final kits) are molded in a black. Left is the prototype version 2-4 gen2 prototype shroud. Right is the "final" xna gen2 sidecar shroud.
Can you get a boner and have it explode with sheer fear and pain for the XNA? Cuz I just had it happen. It's like looking at really taboo porn. It's hot but you just feel wrong and dirty watching horse on midget.
There's many theories, ranging from overshooting their budget - all the way to copying Sony with Dual Ethernet. Nobody really knows for sure, but it's likely that it was just unnecessary to have one on the sidecar, when the one on the console itself can do everything it needs.
Also the gigabit doesn't even do anything. It gives no speed boost when copying files over. Nothing. Almost like MS dropped it because it was useless, or they never got it working.
