I'm having trouble getting some games to work on my kit, a bunch of games work fine but I can't seem to get any of the Halos to work. I just keep getting the dirty disc error when i try to launch the game. I've tried multiple executables to try to solve the issue but it keeps throwing that error.

Here is a pastebin of a KDNET log and it appears to be failing to load WaveShell-Xbox.dll

    Any help appreciated.

If you are on "21256.13" - That is likely your problem. It doesn't like some builds. I'd recommend going down a recovery if so.

I'm on 21256.18 at the moment, but yes I'll try downgrading to .12 and let you know how that goes.

    Edit:
Still getting dirty disc error on 21256.12.

Where did the builds come from? I've ran into that issue when the builds are incomplete. From the looks of it, you at least have the folders set up correctly to reach the default.xex

You are certain the default.xex is development signed through a hex editing program?

Run 360gamehack on the game in question, set it to devkit (is by default)

It's likely something related to some specific files that arent just the xex, and this tool will fix them (just be sure to backup data if needed)

I've done all that, It's just the retail copy of the game. As I mentioned before others are working fine. I've used X360GameHack, XeXTool, and even H3Unlock with no luck.

    Edit:
I just tried the Reach Delta and it launched just fine.

    Edit 2:
Okay I guess I had to patch all the DLLs as well, including the ones the wave folder

Yes. DLLs and Xex are what it patches not just Xexs.

    "failed to load module game:\WaveShell-Xbox.dll"
Took you guys far too long :p

I would recommend not using gamehack since it does a bunch of other things that it shouldn't.
(or just disable all but the dev flag and media limit)

EDIT: while im here have a dev converted TU1 :D

It removes a ton of checks and version limits which it really doesn't need to.
Just use the media limit and devkit flags and it should be fine.
