Hey guys! Just bought a Jasper XDK with Sidecar and PSU. The problem is that the PSU is rated for europe, and I live in the UK :L After reading about standard Xbox 360 PSU's, I've found out that the UK and European versions run at the exact same frequency and voltage, but the UK plug has a 10A fuse fitted to it, whilst the European one doesn't include that. My question is this: - If i replace the plug for the EU powerbrick with the UK one, will it fry the PSU? I don't know the difference between dev PSUs and retail, but I'd assume that they were similar if not the same (Just with higher wattage and fuse for UK version)? I'd rather use the actual cord rather than a socket adaptor as I've been told that they really do have a chance at frying the PSU. Thanks for reading!
the xdk w/ sidecar needs the 213w psu. im not sure if the plug can be swapped out but the system needs the 213w to run.
uh yeah i think the U.K devkit PSU is rated differently than the US, and swapping the plugs could blow the unit. Not 100% sure but would not recommend
Sorry, you mis-understand. Its an EU PSU coming from France, and I'll be using it in the UK. EU and UK PSUs are rated very similarly in retail Xbox 360 PSU's, with the exception being a 10A fuse fitted to the UK plug. I realize that swapping the plug for a US powerbrick would be kinda stupid, considering how different the supplies are rated Here's the rating for EU: Europe (Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain) = 230V @50Hz and Here's the rating for UK: United Kingdom and Ireland = 230V @50Hz fitted with a 10-amp fuse. Taken straight from here: http://support.xbox.com/en-GB/xbox-360/system/power-supply Whats your opinion on the matter?
Will be fine mate, same voltage, no transformer needed or anything, I've had xboxes come from all over Europe (with same voltage respectively) and used the PSUs that came with them.
Not a problem Ended up taking Deep3r's advice and used an adaptor. Everything works fine! Hopefully this might be useful to someone down the line who was in the same position I was in .
