Hey something really unfortunate happened to me. It all started last night when anytime I started a game 10 minutes into it would lock up and the screen would become currupt and make a zip noise. I restarted thinking it was a fluke and it kept doing this. I knew something was seriously wrong then. So I shut it off and woke up the next morning (today) to see if it all blew over (fat chance right) well sure enough I started it up and 10 minutes into any game I played the screen would corrupt and a zip sound would take effect the same time. I let it run for a little bit just pondering what I should do. Well I shut it off and started it back up instantly and to my surprise nothing displayed on the screen. So I looked down at the console and sure enough there was the RROD with 0110. I know for a fact its the GPU and I know how to fix retails but is it safe to do the same with a XDK? I haven't had this 360 long and its already defective. Just wondering if that would be a safe course of action to remove a xclamp put on new washers heat the board and put on new arctic gell.

The XDK and Retail motherboards are the same, so it shouldn't hurt anything to replace the Xclamps.

    Good luck!

I'm fully capable of doing it myself. Thanks for your concern anyway.

Not saying your not cabable, but the Xclamp remval does involve over heating the console to have the broken solder back into place and could potentially kill your console, also alot of times it gives yo e74 errors after xclamp removal

Yep I have seen devs do they fair share of RROD.Well the error might return even if you do the x-clamp fix,a reball is the best solution.

My buddy did the x-clamp fix on his dev and the error returned,he got fed up and sold the whole kit.

Fixed hit it with a heatgun. Looked like the previous owner had already tried to fix it by doing xclamps. However this person did a bad job a lot of stuff was forced and unalligned inside the box. A friend and I hit the mobo with a heat gun and it has been working great every since. I just wish the guy who gave it to me would have told me that it was refurbished before I obtained it.

He removed one and I left it like that. I just basically did the heating and put it back together the right way.

My 360 is rroding and crashing again.
I loaded up a game just now to see how long I could play before it crashed and I got into the game and I played for about 5 minutes and a crash report box came up but it was blank. Just the box and the kit wouldn't respond to anything. I rebooted it and now its rrod on boot up every single time.
I'm so screwed right now... I hope the person who gave it to me will be kind enough to either replace it or get it fixed for me. I sacraficed so much for this, just for it all to go wrong.

Its already been done. I was going to do the X-clamp but one was already removed and inside there was cutting in the metal platting that fits under the xclamps. Like I said someone already attempted this. All that was left to do was replace arctic gell and hit it with a heat gun. I did that and we are still back at square one. The kit is now refusing to boot at all. The last thing it did before it crashed was attempt to do an error report (little black box) the box came up and it was blank and the kit wouldn't respond at all. Before when the kit crashed it would freeze but the screen would be distorted... Now it just freezes but like I said the weird thing was it came up with a black box in game and just hung. I tried to get the kit to respond any way possible and it wouldn't. I turned it off and back on and now its 100% dead the kit just hangs at RROD everytime now.

UPDATE: Got it to boot up once more I just kept trying but it did something it has never done before, it froze on bootup. Heres the picture [IMG]
Needless to say its back to the ol RROD
