I have been bugging XboxSurgeon about this via PM but I think it would be best to get everyones take on this. I have a Slim Proto that everytime I power it off it seems to lose the avatar and kinect functionality, I got it as system only so I am using a random seagate drive I had around, The drive works fine and I can play all the beta releases here plus runs my retail games on it (patched to dev of course), The drive is fine from what I can see. So here is what happens. I use XDKRecoveryXenon21256.3.exe to do a remote recovery with the only options being "Install optional files (content and samples)" and "Install system extended package (enhanced experience)", Everything goes good and I have full functionality on the system, But after a full power cycle (power off then on) xshell crashes on boot then after a restart it loads but avatars are gone and kinect stuff says to update, trying to make a avatar or edit a profile with a current one also asks to update. Games work fine but it bugs me that the system is not 100%. So what is wrong with it? Also, And this has nothing to with this problem, I need to make this kit into a dev so I can real time edit my games. How2dodat? It's seen as a test kit right now.
Honestly I am not sure what that is, I am new to Xbox 360 anything , Other then owning plenty of retail ones since they kept melting D: Some guidance as to what exactly to do would be very much appreciated. EDIT: Do you mean let it go online? No way I am risking getting this thing bricked. (if that still happens that is) ======================== EDIT2:I think I figured it out! It happens if the system crashes! Just tried to run a PS1 emu which crashed when selecting game, Would also explain why it's gone after xshell crashes tho IDK why that is crashing. Probably just drunk.
That would explain a few things. The xex based PS1 emulators are terrible anyhow. Also, unless you have a white listed home/office IP, you won't get online anyhow.
After a full recovery with all options ticked everything is now working even after a crash. Also got the wizardry done so it is now a dev kit. Big thanks to XboxSurgeon for putting up with all my questions and for the very nice kit,
