hi, so I was given a xbox last weekend by a trader friend who picked it up in a bundle but couldn't sell it on amazon, after some investigation It was established it had a xecuter 3 (purple) chip fitted inside with a switch panel on the outside, using the dip switches I managed to get one of the bios to boot up, however it says on the screen that it's xecuter 2 lite? I looked at photos and its definatley a 3 chip. i have a soft modded xbox already but I though that if I could get this up and running properly it would be a better alternative, I've already moved the small external panel to behind the front panel (photos soon) but i have no idea what to do next (HHD is original 20gb) I only just worked out that you need to quickly press the power button to get the bios in bank 2 to load so maybe there are other bios in the other banks? It says there are Mame saves on the HHD in the normal xbox bios but I can't see a option to load them anywhere. also can a lcd screen be added to this chip? Thanks for any advice,
you need to install the x3 bios on to the mod chip to boot up and see xbox config live with by pressing the white button on startup. It may already have the x3 bios on it to find out try boot from either of the 1024kb banks. I think the combo for the 1st 1024k bank is down down up up but im unsure of the second bank but there is info on the team xecuter site. you can add an lcd to that chip. alternatively you can boot the backup bank by pressing the power and reset button at startup I think and reflash the x3 bios on there.
