is this possible with remote or recovery disc?

I am planning on buying one of those beauties from a member here but he doesnt know.

And I dont wanna buy a system I cannot use with actual software(although its a nice collectors piece).

Thx for reading and your input.

I'm sorry, and I know this is my first post, however I've lurked the boards for a LONG time. However, what your saying is completely wrong, if the kit is a genuine beta 1 kit, it will not go to a dash high enough for you to actually be able to use a compiled .xex from any post final revision SDK, or retail games. It just won't happen.

Beta kits are only really good as a conversation/collectors piece, as chances are you are not likely to have any actual content you can use, for example any early SDK's, or early code from a 360 launch title. So, buy a final revision kit, if you want to actually be able to use it.

DSwizzy, i'm not hating on you, but i've read alot of your posts, and you seem genuinely misinformed about pretty much everything you post about, so why don't you think before you post, as you are spreading misinformation. Not that it'd matter if he tried to run a post final recovery on his beta kit anyway, it won't do anything at all.

Totally agree, but IIRC not for beta 1 kits, for beta 2, yes. I might be completely wrong, however just didn't want the guy spending money on an expensive 360 he won't be able to use.

You can't update an XeDK beta 1 to current since it has different hardware.

It would have to be a beta 2 if you want to run a hacked recovery

Anymore info on that? It'd be interesting to see how it was even achieved. I've got a hacked recovery that'll take a beta 2 kit to 9328.5, but thats about it.

If some more information surfaced on this, I'd be more than willing to share some game data I pulled off a couple of beta 1 kits i've got here, so people with one might actually get to actually play something on their kit. Haha.

Thanks for that, but a part of me doesn't think thats gonna update a beta 1 kit. Purely because of the XEX2 in the header, and not XEX1, like the other stuff I have. I have PM'd you anyway. :)

Hmm, €46 or ¥330 is not much for a Xedk i think. Ill ask a friend here to buy one, lets see how easy it is to get this kind of items.
