    Hello all,

i installed the xenoGC modchip in my NTSC gamecube. The light changed from red to orange, everything is working fine, but I can't get Ikaruga to run. I tried the force region switch, which worked fine on 'doshin the giant', but Ikaruga looks like this:

    Any ideas?

    thanks in advance,
    - John

Maybe you grabbed a PAL ISO.

I did. Part of the reason I got the xenoGC modchip is to play PAL import games. If you push y on the controller it forces the GC to boot in the opposite format. It worked for Doshin which is why I'm so confused.

Forcing display mode does not work with a lot of games. You can try holding B when booting, many PAL games can be set to 60Hz that way.

It didn't work with B, but thanks. Luigi's Mansion didn't work either, but all my other backups worked fine. So I guess some games work and others just don't.

PAL GC Ikaruga is 50hz only. Which most US CRTs don't support.

To 100% fix that, you need both a compatible TV and the component cable. NTSC gamecube hardware lacks PAL color encoding.
(I have tested PAL Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles on an NTSC GC using XRGB mini framemeister. Color with component, monochrome with composite)
