Just installed a XenoGC 2.0 but all it does is a constant red light. The console still works with original discs but doesn't boot burned DVD.
It's also red with original game. Is it normal or should be orange (or green on older models) with originlas? Just to be sure the burnt ISO is OK.
I tried the wireless then the wired install but the same result.

Take a picture of the chip please. The board too.

I have replacement board here if you want to buy one (drive board)

The LED should be red when you turn on the Gamecube and then turn orange or green after a couple seconds. If it doesn't change color you probably have a bad connection. If it does change color and it still doesn't work you might need to tweak the laser.

Ignore the lights, go by the result. Will it play backup? Then who cares about lights :)

One of your connections must be bad, which is why the chip is unable to inject its payload into the GC's logic board. You'll need to try to adjust each connection, one at a time (if you have a multimeter you could also test the connections with that) and keep trying til you get it soldered right.

I also recommend using shorter wires.

going to buy a multimeter this week. the wires came with the chip. this length is useful to glue the chip behind the fan to see the leds.

    works!
desoldered and reoldered on every point then now turns orange. but only reads disc 1 times out of 5 in average.
i've read the ritek g04 media is superb for GC and doesn't need laser tweak. it seems it's not true.tweaked based on a tutorial and went down to 385 from the original 520.
had read disc at 400 but at 370 was much faster start like with original disc so to be sure i went with 385.
