After ten years of decline following their buyout, xfire is closing down.

Grabbing your info is possible, they have an interface set up which is nice of them.

Beat me to this lol! I thought they closed years ago, I last logged in in 2012 and it was dead as anything then.

It was good to have Xfire back in the days of retail only PC games, as a way to stay in touch with friends across multiple games, but Steam has grown so popular it has all but replaced Xfire. I started contacting EA to transfer all my old boxed game keys to Origin. Many of my Game keys worked on Steam even if it was just like Unreal Tournament 3. GOG has allowed me to redeem my S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game keys for DRM free versions. I am so done with physical discs taking up space for me. Only thing I have with tons of disc's now is my Saturn and Dreamcast.

I wasn't even big into Steam when I first joined in 2006, I was a big fan physical discs and of Xfire as it had updates to interface with all my games with no input from me. But over the years Steam just grew on me and it has satiated all my needs for a social gaming network.

It was nice knowin' ya Xfire, but sadly I can't say you will be missed even though many great good times were had.
