Someone (following xmas tradition), somewhere, tought to share to the world a ps2 unreleased game called popstar academy... I'm going to ask all the poeple here to participate in the competition to make a decent cover for the game. here are some screenshots of the game that might prove useful in making a good work. the best art will be included. karsten
Does not seem unreleased to me too: http://cgi.ebay.de/Pop-Star-Academy...D2VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em122
well its listed on amazon.co.uk with 2 left from them and 3 used and new so it must have been released in PAL territories?? - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pegi-Pop-Star-Academy/dp/B0007XXEUI
It was indeed PAL only, the screenshots above are also from the PAL version ("select language"). I even remember seeing it on a DVD of a magazine in the "shitty games" part.
That is Fame Academy: Dance Edition..... http://www.amazon.co.uk/UBI-Soft-Fame-Academy-Edition/dp/B0000TIKNU It is based on the BBC television show Fame Academy. In other parts of Europe, it was released as Pop Star Academy, Star Academy or a localized name, presumably because there wasn't a licence for Fame Academy in that country. The problem is, Fame Academy was really a singing show. Sure, they had dance routines too, but primarily they were judged on singing ability. So lending the name to a DDR clone seems a bit odd, you'd think it would have been a SingStar clone! As for how good the game is, it is made by nooby... sorry, Ubisoft. Nuff said!
No, it is a released PAL game. There's a possibility the beta has been made to run on NTSC test consoles, but aren't they region free? Perhaps it was hacked to run on NTSC. Anyway, why would an American game have EUROPEAN language selection?? It is a RELEASED game in Europe. It was released 5 years ago by Ubisoft. Ubisoft are still in existence. I know which way I'd go if I were considering releasing this. Here are some (actual) covers: UK Version German Version French Version European Version As you can see, they have the same screenshots!
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! The idea and effort is, of course, very much appreciated! ;-) Maybe I'll go out and buy it in order to think of your generosity over Christmas! OK, perhaps I won't go that far... it wasn't the best of games!
it doesn't seem a debug, so i guess the interest is around zero. concerning retail copies, i really have no clue about it, i NEVER saw one around in my life (and yes i was searching for it).... in any case no release, since it was actually released.
