In need of some advice, which I'm sure you guys will be able to give. Got a SNES ( PAL ) for Xmas with it I got. Super Mario World Bubsy Question is. What would you recommend next to buy?
Zelda Mario Kart Donkey Kong Country 1-3 Super Metroid Yoshi's Island Ghouls N Ghosts Bomber man Contra 3 The list goes on. There are also some good hacks out there that might work on an Everdrive, or repro carts.
Seconded. Although not the definitive version of the games, Final Fantasy II (Japanese IV) and Final Fantasy III (Japanese VI) are solid versions. They're also the first versions of those games anybody outside of Japan received, if that means anything. Same goes for Chrono Trigger. Super Mario All-Stars contains updated versions of Super Mario Brothers 1, 2, 3 and the Japanese version of Super Mario Brothers 2, branded as The Lost Levels. In addition, Super Mario RPG, Secret of Mana and I've always personally liked Super Star Wars.
Lots of good recommendations already, almost all of which I support. I'd like to add Pilotwings, F-Zero and Starfox/Starwing. And the Lost Vikings (unless you've already played it on another platform). I'm not even going to start with all the RPGs...
Except none of those games came out in the PAL region. Back then Europe got shafted on a lot of great games. It wasn't until really the PS2 that things got better.
I recently bought my first SNES too. So far I have played: - Zelda: A Link to the Past - Chrono Trigger - Secret of Mana And I loved them all. Especially Zelda and Chrono Trigger are so well polished, it's unbelievable and they stand the test of time even by todays standard and don't feel outdated at all. Right now I'm two hours into Final Fantasy 3/6 and I can already see why this is yet another cult classic.
This pretty much covers all the ones I'm thinking of! If you could get ahold of a Super GameBoy, I could extend the list a bit more. Happy holidays
Most? Which one does it work on, being an expansion chip game? Does the SNES2SD have SA-1 support? Either way, OP, if you aren't a collector, a flash cart might not be a bad idea. They might not run everything, but even having "only" >95% of the library available at once is nothing to sneeze at. That is assuming you don't mind the legal aspects though.
I don't know any, but if I say that it doesn't work on any, and someone made one that works with SA-1 games, I look like an idiot.
street fighter II on a PAL machine turns into sloth fighter II with more black bars than picture.. it makes me cringe when i see it hehee
SFII Turbo Uniracers Darius Twin Actraiser Castlevania IV Those 5 are great games that should be reasonably priced, unlike some mentioned here.
You plan on picking up a few Japanese Super Famicom games to go with your Pal/UK SNES? Just make sure you pick up a SF Game Doctor III that way you'll able to play them via bypass ;-)
