Looks like Yahoo has added a new section to the bottom of their listings when you create a new one. It's an option for an English description. I'm assuming this is the first stage in the eBay-Yahoo alliance.

Can someone with better Japanese than mine give us a translation? The translation websites are pretty cryptic. I did see that if one writes in the English description area then it auctomatically makes the auction available to overseas bidders.

It says, "Check this box if you want add an English description to your item. By doing so, 'will ship internationally' will automatically be checked. By entering an English title and description, users can read the English version of your title and description".

Why the fuck are all instructions in Japanese so god damn redundant?

I've used this function a few times now but nobody reads it from what I can tell. It's a dumb option because the user still needs to search in Japanese to find the bloody item unless you list it in English and Japanese but then you have the 30 characters limit to worry about :(

I'm guessing that that's the section that will be searchable under eBay...

Yeah, but that's just it. I copied and pasted my Yahoo description in to EBay and got nothing back. It doesn't seem to carry over at all and from what I can tell there's not even a single mention of this service when you list something on EBay.

Probably just not implemented yet. I'm sure if it was showing up on Ebay, it would say somewhere "this will make your auction show up on Ebay".
