I've been browsing (more like "stumbling") through Yahoo! Japan auctions for a few days now. Equipped with only a dream and my freshman and sophomore college Japanese classes I've been on the lookout for a few items. I'm currently looking for a white Japanese Sega Saturn and a Mother 3 Gameboy Micro Deluxe box. Both items are abundant and cheap (~$10 and ~$110 on Yahoo! Japan, respectively, compared to ~$60 and ~$200+ on eBay). I'm an avid collector, but still a poor college student until I finish my 3 years of law school, which makes paying the jacked up eBay price prohibitive. While my working Japanese knowledge is enough to navigate around the site and check out auctions, I'm a bit afraid of contacting the seller about shipping info and I don't want to miss some "key" word in an auction and get screwed over. If anyone would be able to help me out as either a translator or even just bidding for me (I'd be more than glad to send you the money via PayPal or whatever ahead of time to insure piece-of-mind) I would be enormously appreciative.

I'd be happy to pick out the auctions myself and really only need someone to help me glance over the auction and make sure I didn't make any mistakes (such as misread "my child peed all over this system and it no longer works" or other unfamiliar phrases), help negotiate shipping and final auction dealings with the seller, and possibly set up my Yahoo! Japan account if necessary.

Thanks to anyone that can help. I know I'm only a "NOOB" (as I'm constantly reminded under my username each time I post), but I will do my best to try and make it worth your while if possible.

My apologies, I think I found what you were referring to. I got sidetracked reading Yakumo's posts about having bad luck with a few Yahoo! Japan sellers during my first search and guess I overlooked the thread. Thanks. You're more than welcome to close/delete this thread if you like.

Celga or Rinkya...though I hear Celga is preferable...

Somebody here might be willing to help you a tiny bit with translation (though, nobody likes being used as a translator service too much), but with regards to bidding...you better be prepared to reward someone handsomely. There are plenty of nice people here...but buying for somebody else on Yahoo Japan is time consuming...and for many, it isn't worth their time.
