Well... downloaded some stuff (videos, very cool btw) and had some qustions: The Shenmue where he's riding the bike.... that's not in the released version of Shenmue? (I don't know... I haven't played it all the way through yet...) Is the GP 500 unreleased footage actually from the Dreamcast version or the PC version? Any other info on Toejam & Earl III? Looks pretty complete going from the video~ Thanks
Nope, that is taken from an early beta of the game. The whole bike part was scrapped in the final game. Shame really. LeGIt would know better but I belive it to be from the Dreamcast version since many textures are missing. Toejam & Earl III is another reason why I hate Mircosoft. Toejam & Earl III is one of the many games that were originaly strated on the Dreamcast but ended up being finished on the XBOX and selling like shit. Sega would have been better keeping them for the Dreamcast. Anyway here is a list of what SHOULD have been Dreamcast games. Panzer Dragoon Orta, Jet Set Radio Future, Gun Valkriey, House Of The Dead 3 and Daytona 3 (still not realesed on anything). Makes you cry doesn't it :smt022 Yakumo
Yea... that sucks... You forgot to mention Geist Force (That game looks cool from the video..... too bad it never made it)
rightfully so I agree, I think sega has lost lots of money releasing games for x-box. Are any of the x-box released games even possible on cube? I find it a bit odd that most of those games were shifited to x-box so fast, and whats funny is now sega just recently released a new dc game which is puyo puyo. I'm guessing the reason the bike part in shenmue was cut out due to glitches and bugs, as i heard that was one of the main problems it faced durring its development. In fact i remember reading somewhere, it was either ign or a magazine, that there was a part in shenmue where you had to get through a maze in a build or something like that by using the phones around you.
I totally remember seeing videos of the Dreamcast versions of ToeJam III and GunValkyrie at E3 2001... Interesting tidbit: the background music of the GunValkyrie video is from Panzer Dragoon. Obviously I could hear the music as I walked toward the Sega booth, and I thought they were showing a Panzer Dragoon game for the Dreamcast! Yeah, I remembered after Sega of Japan announced they would stop production of the DC hardware, SoJ president reassured all DC fans that they would release 100 DC games in that year. Then he went on to list some of the highlights of those 100 games, which included House of the Dead 3, Jet Set Radio 2, Daytona 3, GunValkyrie (which Sega of Europe leaked the news of it's development on DC first, and it's supposed to be played with the DC gun for shooting, and the d-pad on the gun for navigation; which kinda explains why the Xbox game is so awkward to control) and some other games that, needless to say, never made it out on the Dreamcast. As much as I like the Xbox now, curse Microsoft for taking so many great DC games away (including the US DC release of Shenmue II).
