Living in Japan is a pain in the back side for games collectors because of the lack of space. So today I took a few pictures of how we combat this space shortage problem :smt023 The Cupboard of Doom !! Host to 200 Saturn games, 50 odd Mega CD games as well as other goodies. same Cupboard at a wider angle This is the stuff that's kept on the top shelf of the cupboard Oh Oh, two more Dreamcasts in the shoe cupboard. These are hidding from the wife :smt045 This is the secret stash. I keep all my orders in here to save my wife nagging at me for filling the house full of stuff The Entertainment room or better known as the living room that I took over :smt023 The PC is in bits whist I took this photo due to it F-ing up. Close up of the TV section. Sharp 24" TV with a Kenwood micro system with super woofer (Very nice sound), Dreamcast, Saturn, DVD player and Video. Everything is hooked up through the stereo. This is my PC. Nice case with soso insides. Next to it are some Dreamcast games, Yamaha Active Superwoofer (Behind the games) and me scanner which you can't see because it's hiding next to the PC. What's this? Another Dreamcast on top of my PC case ready for some VGA gaming. Needs a bit of a dust I think These draws hold over 250 Dreamcast games belive it or not. Yakumo
Impressive set of drawers you have..... :smt043 Puyo Puyo cushion is brilliant!...I've got to get one of those... :smt045 How much is a 2 bed flat to rent in Japan Yakumo? Also do people have detached houses?
Hmm, it all depends upon where you live. If you live in a big city like Tokyo or Osaka then a two bed room flat will cost you about 500 to 700 pound a month. My place is quite a nice size but only has one bed room plus dinning and living rooms and cost me 350 pounds a month but that's because I live in a smaller city. The same place in Tokyo would cost well more. Yes, People have detached homes. My wife's parents home is detached. Yakumo
Great pics Yakumo, a very nice collection indeed, stil if i had that collection in my house im not even sure if i could compact it in that space, still it looks like the cupboard middle shelf looks like its almost ready to break lololololol. :smt082 :smt082 :smt082 :smt082 :smt082 :smt082 :smt082 :smt082 :smt082
What is the "stash"s compartment thing really for? Just for access to piping? Pretty ninja to have something like that
Here it is I keep it in the bottom Dreamcast draw with the white lable discs. Yeah, it's just to gain access to the pipes but it runns the whole lenth of the house. It's very dry and clean down there so it makes an ideal place to store stuff. Yakumo
Damn living in japan is expensive, my boyfriend pays the same ammount for our morgage and we have a big 2 bedroom appartment with a 45 square meter living room.
I can attest that it looks very good :smt023 Student accomodation goes at ripoff prices though. In Amsterdam it can get up to 400e a month for a measly 10 sq.m, and I've seen even worse rooms (6sqm). When I finally get a room near the Uni it's gonna be a dilemma what to move and what to keep at home :smt043
wow..damn cool "no sapce"-room you have, yakumo :smt023 especially the secret gamehideoutplaces :smt043 respect rayer:
great collection yak, in the secret compartment, are those water cables???? hope none of those ever break and destroy all the stuff down there
If you guys think Japan is expensive, try (northern) California. Real estate jumps between 20-50% a year while inflation is around 5%.
Yep Cali is extra special expensive. $1 million for what would/could be called a shack. The prices mentioned don't seem that expensive to me, not cheap by a long shot but for a big city in Japan seems ok. I thought I read somewhere that Hong Kong is really expensive too.
When you run out of space Yakumo. You can send some of your stuff over to my place. I have lots of room. ;-)
