Well, it's not just any promotion -- just for civil servant jobs, no? Kind of makes sense... if they didn't, they'd have Austrian moviestars as the mayor. While they're logic is complete bullshit, their answer based on that logic, is valid.

The problem is, that if you're born in Japan, as were your parents and grandparents, you're not necessarily Japanese. If your parents have one of the Korean-turned-Japanese names, you're pretty much fucked for life. The biggest step forward the Japaense born foreigners got was back in 1995, when they stopped having to submit finger prints to authorities.

Anyways, what it comes down to --- they have laws that say only Japanese can have certain jobs... we have them in America as well (well, one job anyway) but to be Japanese, your parents (and grandparents, and great grandparents, etc) have to be Japanese. Descendents of WWII sex slaves are not Japaense. I know 3rd generation Koreans that have to get a re-entry permit... just like filthy white people! One day, Japan will get the steel rod out of their ass, and it starts w/ getting that racist fuck Ishihara out of office.

 

I think that this, just like teaching WWII atrocities in schools, or trying to become proficient in English, will never happen because the masses have no incentive to do so.

Fuck. I've newer heard about the the sex slaves before. So I did a little research, and it blew my mind.
Some of the stuff I found:

-An estimated one hundred thousand to four hundred thousand female sex slaves were forced to deliver sexual services to Japanese soldiers, both before and during World War II. They have been variously called "comfort women," "military sex slaves," "MSS," "military comfort women," and -- in Japanese -- "jugun ianfu." This program was approved by the Imperial Conference, which was composed of the emperor, representatives from the armed forces and the main Cabinet ministers. It was formed after Japan invaded Manchuria in 1937.

-This system resulted in the largest, most methodical and most deadly mass rape of women in recorded history. Japan's Kem pei tai political police and their collaborators tricked or abducted females as young as eleven years old and imprisoned them in military rape camps known as 'comfort stations,' situated throughout Asia. These 'comfort women' were forced to service as many as fifty Japanese soldiers a day. They were often beaten, starved, and made to endure abortions or injections with sterilizing drugs. Only a few of the women survived, and those that did suffered permanent physical and emotional damage.

-They were simply discarded when they got too sick to be of any use. During the last months of WWII, most Comfort Women were murdered or left to die by retreating Japanese troops

This is unreal. Something must be sick in the soul of the people who took part in this. I wonder what kind of nation/inviroment produces such men.
I'm a bit curious, how do the common japanese people stand on this issue, what doy they say? Can some of you guys living in Japan say anything about this?

 

Hmmm... I don't think any of them will deny it, but none will take blame for it either, as they shouldn't. I mean fuck, look at what the caucasian population did to Africans and Native Americans. The "official" stance on why they don't teach WWII atrocities in historybooks is b/c it's too graphic for children. This monster reared it's ugly head about 4-5 years ago when the Korean & Chinese residents of Japan threw a fit b/c they edited a bunch of that stuff out of history books. I guess the loser gets to write their own history sometimes.
