I picked up a DS Lite the other day (same color as my old one I sold to get my 3DS) and I noticed something odd. The bottom screen has a weird yellow tint to it, like someone has been messing with the color balance on the screen. This seems to be a semi-common issue with the lite (though I've never seen it before) any idea what causes it? Is it an issue with the touch layer or the screen itself? Is there a fix or is the only solution to replace the whole screen?

Could it be a loose connector cable?

    A picture would be nice.

Sorry, I created this thread while I'm at work, will post an example when I get back home. But like I said, the screen has a yellow tint to it, something pure white on the top screen will look light yellow on the bottom.

I remember my Dad's ds lite had a yellow tint too. Not noticeable on it's own, but when next to another, it was quite clear. We both got ds lites at the same time, new, when they came out. It must be something to do with the manufacturing process or maybe where the screens are made/sourced from?

Usually crackling (usually on large LCD screens like monitors)/yellow hued screen means bad invertor board, something about the heat distorting it

    It looks like this:

Really? What causes this? Is it the touch layer, the screen itself or both?

Could be LED. Some "warm" white LED tended to look yellow-ish.
