Just checked my closet after about 2 years of peace and most of my beige candies are are turning yellow. Cleaning them didn't help at all, it's deep, feels like the whole plastic is “infected”. My white saturn is turning into cheese... and my SNES is even worse, it's has (especially the base part) a mustard tint.:noooo:
Any ideas how to prevent this ugly aging?

There's a thread somewhat related to this about yellowish SNES, but it talks about how it might be a manufacturing defect; it never addresses how it might be fixed.

I had some PC-Engine gear that was probably left in the sun (close to a window maybe?) by the previous owner. My briefcase unit had these yellow blotches on it, which bugged me. However, because the plastic had only yellowed on the surface, some fine sanding paper did the trick. It's not perfect (and you can see where it has been sanded), but it's definitely better.

But that really doesn't help you, does it. Because if it was left in the cupboard, the plastic has most likely turned completely yellow.

I have the same issue with a yellowed SNES. It seems early production runs used a type of plastic that was prone to yellowing, while the later revisions did not.

As far as I know, the only way to fix it is to pick a plastic paint color that matches the original, and spray-paint all the plastic. I think Yakumo could clarify on what kind of paint to use, he's painted several.
