believe me, after 1 year of watching the same shit with the same idiots day after day you'll soon tire of it. I'm at the point where I can't stand to watch the shit after 10 years here. Even many native Japanese can't stand it but the TV companies still produce the same crap year after year. It's just like a load of lemmings following each other until one day a new idea is born which they will then all follow until you are sick of it then some more.

I quit JP TV cold turkey like 3 years ago and never missed a thing.

 

If you went back to it now you'll see that it's just the same.

There are only 5 type of shows in Japan (7 if you count news and documentary)

1. - TV celebs eat and talk crap.
2. - TV celebs do a game show, make a lot of noise, act like tits and get money.
3. - TV celebs go somewhere, eat and talk crap.
4. - TV celebs basically acting like tits in a so called entertainment fashion.
5. - Dramas with yep, you guessed it, TV Celebs more often than not having a role in it with no acting skills plus totally unbelievable crap story.

So as you can see it's the same no talent wankers on TV almost every day doing the same crap each day yet they still get paid??????!!!! WHY?OH:

It's not much better in America. They're constantly coming up with new ideas, but new retarded ideas.

Anyway, why is it that all of them get hit in the nuts? I thought with shows like this you only get hit as punishment for doing badly; did they all do badly? Also, what's that guy in red yelling when he runs over to the host?

 

The guy in red and the host are a duo called Down Town. they are almost always together. The host is actually the most wealthy TV talent in Japan. God knows why? Anyway, he's just shouting allsorts of crap about how the machine is rigged or how it may cheat and so on. Can't really hear too well because I'm in work now so the PC only has the internal speaker.

For a minute there I thought you were describing American TV.

 

About the only shows I really "watch" anymore are Seinfeld and well...Family Guy.

Most others are background noise while I screw around on the PC.

My Mom and Dad like to watch American Idol and crap, though. Ugh. I can honestly say I hate any and all celebrities now. Well, most of them.

 

The only reality show I can halfway stomach is "The Amazing race," which is only cool becasue they occasionally make the people do interesting things, like gettting them lost in mazes, feeding them eat ostrich eggs, making them jump off bridges, or hike ten miles carrying a fifty pound basket of fish and forcing them to sell them in a third world market, etc. I would watch it more if it were a bit more "wacky," but as it is, it's just "interesting."

I absolutley abhor all other Reality TV shows. I hate Survivor with a passion, American Idol, that dumbass show where they swap Moms on people, ugh. I despise that shit. You know why all these shows are all over the place? Becasue they're cheap to make, you don't have to hire any actors, write any scripts, etc. It's not becasue they're popular becasue the networks know people will watch any dumbass show you throw in front of them.

 

What is it they are trying to win?

It better be something good.

 

Im the same when it comes to reality tv, its anoying as hell and pointless.

If i lived in japan and saw shows like that id cut off having cable altogheter if i was living over there.

Here in the US its pretty good now that they have channels for literaly every intrest.

Though regular network tv and some channels like mtv have really gone downhill.

 

You know I bitch and moan about reality TV shows but if I ever ending watching one it usually turns out to be better than I thought. I thought Temptation Island was just over the top but I saw it here in Japan and it ended up being pretty good.

Fear Factor is another good show just because of the things they make them eat. I had never seen American Idol until about 6 months ago and thought the auditions were really funny, then tuned out for the singing contest heh.

I guess I haven't seen that many but the ones I did see I ended up liking.

 

I'd probably only be able to handle a bit of the variety shows in Japan...at least the ones with Razor Ramon HG...

Other than that, I'd probably only watch Japanese pro wrestling.

 

Once you've seen him you'll never need to see him again because just like EVERY other Japanese talent he only has one act. Yep, same shite time and time again. Fucking yippy !

Well, you forgot one show, and that was Big Brother, and no I don´t like that show at all. Since of what I have experienced, was the same as Big Brother, except I didn´t get any money out of it. And it lasted 9 months instead . So I REALLy hate Big Brother.

 

To be honest, I think North American TV is far better than Japanese TV. You've got awesome and original shows like Lost, Heroes, Grey's Anatomy, The Sopranos, Six Feet Under (well when it was on), Deadwood, etc etc.

Japanese TV is a cesspool of bad gameshows and horrendus melodramatic soaps. Except for anime of course, which is all gravy.

 

Here here! Japanese TV is shit FULL STOP !! You know what I watched all this week on it? E.R. X (10) and errrr...... that's it ! 1 bloody hour out of the whole week ! Thank God I have access to British TV shows via UKNOVA.
