I saw the Strictly Diesel drag racing Ford Super Duty diesel truck today while driving my grandparents home. It was loaded up on a trailer being pulled by a Chevrolet. Being a Chevy fan myself and my grandfather a Ford fan I was about to make a comment on a Chevy towing a Ford when I saw the decals on the Ford and went "wait just a fucking minute..."

They passed us doing around 90 MPH when we were going 65. No hopes of getting a picture...

Here's what the truck looks like for those not familiar with diesel drag racing.

They're not mine. I simply used them so you can see what the truck looks like for those who don't know of it. I was on the road driving home when I saw it on the trailer being towed from El Paso on I 10 freeway towards Sierra Blanca in Texas. About 25 miles outside of El Paso is where it passed me. Since I was driving and they were flying I had no chance of getting a picture. Must have been late to an event or something to be doing 90 plus with a trailer and a big tired lifted Chevy truck as tow vehicle...

Please tell me it was being pulled by a gasoline powered Chevrolet!

It was Duramax diesel powered. Strictly Diesel wouldn't bow so low as to have a gas powered work truck in the fleet. Even the Super Duty chase truck had a Powerstroke in it when they passed us on the road. No gasoline here.

Seems only those in the southern region of the USA understand diesel performance...

I'm from the south, and I'm not sure what you're talking about. But that's okay. I've been to some drag races - there's actually a drag racing place pretty close to my house. When I went there before, they had lots of different vehicles: trucks, sports cars, proper racing cars, and even some bikes. They have official, sponsored races there, but they also have a section where anyone can sign up and race their car/bike. I haven't been in a while, though. I had fun the last time I went, so I might go there again soon.

It's yet another one of sonic's spam threads, I'm still waiting on the topic about his last meal and how he likes pepsi more than coke.
Assemblergames isn't anymore what it once was so just endure/ignore the nonsense that sadly seems to be 50% of all topics/posts nowadays.

Diesel would normally be the preferred choice for trucks, vans 4x4s etc here (with some exceptions) and also used a lot in regular cars

Cool. We have cars in this country too.

    Amazing stuff. :p

On a serious note though I'm guessing this is the US equivalent of us seeing a WRC car in the street or something.

I once saw a TVR prototype being driven through my village. We also get a lot of the Top Gear team around my neck of the woods too.

Yet another post with a stupid, attention-seeking title. PLEASE give a clue to the subject of your posts in your titles in future, so we can decide whether to bother opening them.

    What I read was....

I saw a truck. It was going at 90mph - a speed any truck can do (especially the Super Duty, with a top speed of around 120mph). And it had decals on it. I didn't take any photos though. Or video. Just take my word. OMFGZZZZ isn't that the best thing evahh?!

If you think taking a photograph of a car going 25mph faster than you is hard (BTW a car has to be going at least 10mph faster to overtake you), try taking a photograph of a Formula 1 car doing 180mph when you're standing still. It's quite challenging, and yet I manage.

Or, as I said, take a video.

A car only has to be going [Your own speed + X] to overtake you, where X must be positive but can be infinitely small! Depending on X, it could take a billion years though :p

    Anyways.
I once saw a UFO with green guys in it flying past by me. It had Google-decals on it. I didn't take pictures. You won't believe this...
