I remember playing it when I was a kid, not a long ago got 4 in 1 bootleg cart with this game. There's no info about this game in the Google except some YouTube video. Here's a billion question - how.to.pass.the.TEMPLE? Anybody in this world knows it? Since I can't find any info about this one, maybe the whole game just leaked beta, which gets illegal release? Because official and very known Instruments of Chaos is pretty similar but has much more stuff. There's a rom which you can find in the internets: Young_Indiana_Jones_Chronicles_(U)_[h1]
If I say that there's no info, it really is, I searched a lot. Gamefaqs also got nothing about this game. There's only three comments for this youtube video and they all about "this game sucks" and "I can't pass the temple".
I checked some ROMs, I found three: Young Indiana Jones Chronicles - Aug 92 Instruments of Chaos starring Young Indiana Jones (beta) - July 92 Instruments of Chaos starring Young Indiana Jones - Jan 94 They all seem to be the same game during different stages of development. (same start menu, same India level, same HUD, same gameplay) The July 92 beta even has some nice debug features still active (very fun to play around with), but these aren't active in the "Chronicles" rom. Here's a comparison shot: Note: I got the dates from the ROM headers, so they are most likely not the build date of the ROM. More likely the planned release date. The "Chronicles" ROM seems to be the earliest.
Thanks for this. Seems I was right - it's a beta. And mine version seems to be a July 92 beta, I can't check it right now but I remember I couldn't change options in the beginning. It also means what Temple could not be passed since it's all in development.
IIRC, the game was first shown at the 1992 Chicago's CES and was planned for both Genesis and Sega CD.
The beta version is included on a lot of pirates due to it it being a much smaller size, I've ran into it on a couple 4-in-1's myself.
Tried it again, Temple stage couldn't be passed because you can't push the statues on the columns. Really a pity, but maybe someone will hack this game and will find more content or debug mode if it's there. Also music is absolutely great.
