Ok so I was wondering what it was like for anybody who's a developer now; whether or not their experience was similar to how mine was or if it was completely different. It sort of relates to FruitRocks thread, but not. Basically, after discussing things with microsoft (through xboxrdp@microsoft.com) and signing a general nda, I got given an rdp application. After filling it out, we arranged a phone meeting to discuss my needs. We still need an xna game to be made before they want to officially let us into the program, however, they thought we had a good application. What I'm wondering, is if for anyone else who's gone through the ordeal to get into the program got the same things I did. Did you get a general nda to start out with, before getting one(s) which you could edit for the rest of your team to complete? Or did you just simply get given an editable one in the first place? One of the reasons I'm wondering this is because I'm not sure if things have changed lately in terms of how they take applications, etc., after some guy was accusing me of lying about things. I don't want to get into drama here though, so if you happen to have an answer as to how your process spanned out, then please, post it! Thanks.
That's not really relevant though. :/ We're fine with spending a number of months on an xna game though. Like if it means spending a bunch of work on that, it should pay off in the end.
More like Java than C++. That said, general NDAs are common. It's a legal protection for both sides. It's not just Microsoft that does it. -hl718
It's not bad if you know both C++ and C#, which the programmers on the team do. I'm not exactly the one doing most of the programming, but I'm trying to master C++ before anything else. Yeah I just had some guy saying it was a lie that I got an NDA and started quoting some other, more specific NDA (which I assume I would get later on). Some people are just so self absorbed that it's ridiculous..
