ah... that car? woops, made a mistake! :smt043 yeah , that car is really cool, but why can't you have one in america? anyway, i need to add the T-rex and to my list!
Well, there are various reasons why some cars are not allowed in the US. I don't about this exact car, but for the most part they don't meet emission standards. In other words, the exhaust puts out too much bad stuff that is not good for the environment.
If you guys had those cars, how would you even take care of it? Where could you park it? Everyone would be trying to F it up or steal it. (Especially Silverbolt's cars
I find that funny, with shit like Hummers/Humvee's as "viable" transport. "My SUV does gallons to the mile!"
The Hummers/Humvee's have stupid MPG's and barely register in the double miles to the gallon. Hardly an economical vehicle.
This is THE car. After i saw being tested on BBC's Top Gear ( DB9 x Train ), i don't even care for Porsches or Ferraris any more. The car is beautiful, incredible well built, has a fantastic engine (with an amazing sound), it's charming, elegant. The dashboard is covered by leather! Like Jeremy Clarkson said, it's not Cool, nor Sub-Zero. They had to make a new section for it! rayer: Gotta love Aston Martin cars. Too bad they cost too much money and i never saw one here in Brazil :smt022
The smart car doesnt meet bumper levels. Imagine a smart car and SUV colliding. That is why we cant have them.
Oh, so you are talking about MPGs. I don't mean to sound insulting, but do you know about emission standards. It deals with what comes out of the exhaust pipe of a vehicle. MPG may play a small (and when I say small, I mean really really small) factor in it. The US has a higher emission standard than Europe, which is why some European cars are not road legal in the US.
Sorry do *you* know about emissions? the more fuel a vehicle is burning, the more shit it's going to pump out. You can only get rid of so much shit through a catalytic convertor and other processes. Funny that "your cars aren't allowed here because they pollute too much" because I was going to say the same thing. The US has a higher emissions production level than Europe/the world. *edit* After some research, the hummer is actually exempt from emission controls, so there is no legal requirement to minimise its pollution. Apparently they emit over 3 times more carbon dioxide than "average" cars. SOURCE
As a matter of fact I do. It is you who does not know anything about emissions, or else you wouldn't be posting this load of crap. So, let me explain to you one more time. Emission Standards have NOTHING to do with miles per gallon. It only deals with the different chemicals that come out of an exhaust pipe. It may have an affect on the MPG, but the actuall STANDARDS have nothing to do with it. As long as what is comeing out of the exhaust pipe falls within standards, then it is ok. You know I think you were just looking for a way to derail this topic. I answer cahaz's question and you post some utter bull shit about the Hummer. Why!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dammit why???????????????? You had to go way off topic and do this stupid bull shit didn't you. I was talking about favorite cars. - EDIT - Oh good lord!!! That is an anti Hummer campaign, of course they are going to say that. I would love to see where they got their information.
that "source" has some pretty weak reasons for hating Hummers. People wont like you... uh, yeah, i dont think anyone with an expensive car would be "liked".
It has some pretty good ones, too Why have excessive gas consumption? Why drive a vehicle that's more difficult to control and more likely to land you in an accident? Why buy one if it's never going offroad anyway? It's dumb vehicle for people with more cash than sense, who are more worried about looking patriotic than actually giving a damn about their country or the people in it. One thing I will say though... "codepink" is not a good name for a campaign...
Look buddy boy. I am not defending the Hummer. I am talking about emissions. Tachikoma was the one that brought up the Hummer, not me. Now, can we get back on topic and start talking about favorite cars again?
Once its been stained No one listens, but i do! My favorite car is Delorean because its cool! Next would be the El Camino or Trar. :smt043
Oh the Hummer/Humvee discussion. The same goes for the Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigor. These cars are only famous because celebrities have them. And it shows how they have a bad taste. What's the point of having monstruosities like those? If you want something big, buy a Monster Truck. :smt043 :smt082
Returinig to the topic: Back to the future Powaaa! :smt033 ih , well, that's not really on the topic ...but not really off-topic too , you know? we are already in mid-way. :-D ;-)
Delorean. Handles like shit, 0-60 in the time it takes me to make tea, but there can be no doubt it's a damn cool car. With you 100% on that one
:smt043 That's so true :smt043 The 1985 DeTomaso Pantera GT5 - Edit - Fans of the DeLorean might like this car, 1975 Bricklin SV-1
Aaaa yes the old Bricklin SV-1, the great canadian flop designed by some american tart in detroit.....cool car though :-D Oh and the SMART car is now in Canada as of this month ! Just saw a special about people demoing them to the public in Toronto. They say they start at $12,000 CAD Maby I should go test drive one for fun.
