It's almost the middle of December and everybody is starting to talk about their games of the year. I'll start with mine: My overall game of the year - Wolfenstein: The New Order. This game was tottaly awesome in every aspect for me. I like the old style FPS game elements, the story was very good and there haven't been many games released recently where you can kill Nazis (except for Sniper Elite V3) My console game of the year - Forza Horizon 2. If you like driving games, you will like this game. The freedom is nice, the music is nice and the cars are nice. I haven't played Drive Club or Grid Autosport, so I can't say anything about those games. My favourite story in a video game - The wolf among us. Telltale games know how to make a story based game. Everyone should check this game out. Honorable mentions : Alien Isolation, Thief ( 2014 ), Far Cry 4, Titanfall. If I would have a Wii U, you would probably see some more games in this list. Forza Horizon 2 Titanfall Sunset Overdrive Super Smash Bros. Wii U Wolfenstein: The New Order probably deserves a place too, but I haven't finished it yet.
Mine has to be Hyrule Warriors. Easily my favourite. 2nd place goes to Bayonetta 2. Lastly, Smash Bros Wii U.

For me I'd go with the following. Forza Horizon 2 Shadow of Mordor The Walking Dead Seasons 1 & 2 (New generation release) GTA V (New generation release) Yeah, I know 2 of the games were release last generation too but in GTA's case the new version looks so much nicer which is amazing when you concider the original version looked so great to start off with.
I haven't really played any new games this year. I played Mario Kart 8 a little at this videogame meeting thing, but that's about it. Not much has really interested me, plus I haven't had a lot of extra money. There are some games that are coming out next year that I'll probably get when they're released for PC: Resident Evil, GTAV, and Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty (I'm not sure when this game is coming out, but probably some time in 2015).
Did not finish many titles realeased this year. Having said that, Shovel Knight on 3DS was fantastic, and really enjoyed Fables: Wolf among us on PS3. Tellatale are now experts at the interactive story genre. Might add later to the list Freedom Planet, what I have played so far has been pretty good.
Mario Kart 8 Super Smash Bros 3DS/Wii U Forza Horizon 2 Sunset Overdrive PT if it counts, because holyshit did it keep me awake for a week.
I don't know yet which is the best game that I've played this game. But I can make a list of some: Valiant Hearts Mario Kart 8 Bayonetta 2 Hyrule Warriors Super Smash Bros 3DS Forza Horizon 2 There is a lot of Nintendo games on my list but this isn't very surprsing. Microsoft and Sony did not get many games that caught my interest this year and Nintendo didn't drop the ball on the second semester.

If not wanting to that's ok. I will just say it. Strider reboot. It did for me what Dragon's Crown did for me in 2013. Becoming top games for me not just this year but ever. Bayonetta 2 is runner up. Man that's a great game.
FTL Advanced Edition update. Seriously. Also Dark Souls II, and basically everything Nintendo produced. 2014 was fairly uneventful for me, otherwise.
Overall GOTY: Fantasy Life. Sure, it came out in Japan in 2012, but man I loved my time with that game. Put 170+ hours into it. Runner-ups: Captain Toad's Treasure Tracker - Seriosuly 1a for me. This game is so well designed it's ridiculous. Sunset Overdrive - Very well designed with excellent gameplay. Theatrhythm: Curtain Call - An order of magnitude better than the first, and the first was already a great game. Mario Kart 8 Super Smash. Bros Wii U
