I got a NES game online which was advertized as being CIB (complete in box). Turns out now, the dust cover isn't included. I would expect with a CIB that everything is included, also the dust cover. What are your thoughts on this?
CIB = Complete In Box What you described is not CIB. It's missing one item (though I'm sure it's not hard to get said item). Complain, make sure they fix all auctions or sales to state what's missing if anything. I would only suggest a refund if the item itself was missing more.
I didn't ask if the dust cover was included since it was advertized as CIB, so I assumed everything would be there. I'm still waiting for reply of the seller. In his defense, the dust cover wasn't shown in the photo, so that's on me for not being sharp (enough) there. But the text clearly stated CIB, so I really consider that wrong/false advertisement text.
That is not my point haha I just ask if you are sure that the game was sold in shops with a dust cover. I had some sealed games that didn't had a dust cover after opening them.
9/10 some sellers don't understand CIB. As sometimes it's described as Cart Instructions Box. Not always 'Complete'.
Ah, ok! It concerns Swords and Serpents. I already have the German box/manual version which has the dust cover, so I assume the Dutch/FAH version would have it as well.
CIB means different things to different people, especially when you're dealing with eBay sellers and such. I always make sure to ask if I can't see something pictured.
Yes, FAH version should have it too. Some EURO Version (the smaller ones) sometimes don't have dust cover.
If it says CIB, I assume it means *complete* including original dust covers for most NES games. A few may have been without but I have never seen a new game without one, even some unlicensed games had some. SNES OTOH is a bitch to define CIB. Some early SNES titles did have dust cover, later titles do not have any. And yes some sellers do confuse CIB as Cart, Instruction, Box. This is especially obvious with Intellivision games that may be advertised as CIBOO (overlay and overlay)
