Hi all I looked around assembler for a little while and couldn't find any posts like this, any way just thought it be cool for members to show off there main workspace/ desk. Heres mine: yep i know every things black apart from the 360 didn't realise till after i bought it :'(
That is one weird-looking monitor. It's a CRT, right? What do all those buttons do? What model is it?
Its an ADI Microscan PV-5517, CRT yeah. It pivots clockwise, good for MAME games with tate modes. Got software that lets you put Windows in portrait mode, which is good for Word etc. The buttons are just degauss/brightness/contrast/move screen etc. Handy having them there instead of going through tons of menus. Its pretty ancient and is on its way out I think, lets out a high pitched whine every now and then - nothing a good whack doesn't solve obviously  Love it though, only cost me a fiver. Going to use it purely as a gaming monitor as soon as I get the money together for a pair of LED screens for general computer use.
A pivoting CRT? Can't remember seeing one of those before. Interesting design choice given how sensitive CRTs are to rotation. I hear you on the Word/web usage - it surprised me how quickly all PC screens became widescreen, given the dominance of vertical scrolling content. When I upgraded from 19" to 23" TFT I actually lost out vertically. Seemed mad to me at the time but now it's turned into my Bluray screen, so that worked out alright.
heheh i knew you would say that. any way im not here to start fights lets get this topic back on topic
Check out this mess! I decided to include the other table to emphasize that this place is a complete wreck right now. Like me! My PC is just close enough to somewhat-use from bed, but just far away that it's a bit of a strain. Wow, my shit-brown carpet is really ugly sometimes.
