Along the lines of the Pac-Man hat that came out a few months ago, now we're graced with these Taiko head pieces! I'd love to see somebody wear one of these in a busy shopping mall! The onlooker reactions would be priceless! http://mgrsti3030s.seamlesstech.biz...asp?CatalogID=9859&SearchYN=N&subFolderID=179
Taiko no Tatsujin! :happyhap: :happyhap: Does anybody know if its out in the US? How does it compare to the Japanese arcade version?
It's definitely out in the US. I see it for sale everywhere for $59.99...comes in a nice big box! I don't own a PS2 so I can't comment on how faithful it is to the Japanese arcade edition.
I have it (their are like 7-9 of them in Japan at this point, but only the first one is available in the states). I got mine from Circuit City for $35 a little while ago. What I can say about it is (A.) The music is great, (B.) The drum is the least sensitive controller i've ever used (someone I know actualy put a hole in his one due to having to hit it so hard), and (C.) despite the controller issues it was worth every penny.
I've heard the same - while the game got an excellent conversion (and is known as Taiko Drum Master here), the controller is absolutely horrible. I had a go at a demo unit at a local store a few weeks back, and it was horrible. On a similar subject, who's excited for the impending Beatmania release here this fall? :-D
Not in the states. I wasn't aware it got a European release either, but Anti's mention of a boxset has me thinking otherwise.
According to this list, several Beatmania games were released in North America... but I'm not sure how accurate it is. The only Beatmania game I've ever seen (and only seen it once at that) is aforementioned boxset, containing the controller and a PSX game that's simply called "Beatmania".
