Game: YuGiOh 5DS - Duel Terminal Memory: 1GB DDR Security: Propriety IO Board (Serial not USB...really?!) + Security Plug CPU: 1.5 Ghz Celeron M OS: Windows XP - Embedded SP2 Hard Drive: 80GB Western Digital Drive Expansion Ports: 1 PCI GPU: Radeon 9600 256MB -- Yes...This basically a Konami Bemani Type 2... I recently picked up a duel terminal which was having an odd issue: Windows would boot and load but after the game would initiate it would start exhibiting graphical glitches. I almost didn't buy it but it was worth a gamble especially when the place selling let me try to fix it for free. I started with reinstalling the game...worked for a few moments and broke again - odd no? I went and tested and replaced RAM...same issue. I was getting a bit concerned and at this point have not purchased the unit. My business partner has a lot of knowledge about computers like myself and after speaking with him and coming up with ideas about how we could potentially fix the system I went ahead and bought it. Once home I through a new drive in, installed Windows 7 32-bit...As soon as Windows hit "Testing Video Performance" everything went to hell...again. So by this point I've confirmed it's a GPU / Graphics Card bug. Only one problem...I don't have any PCI graphics cards. The next day I hunted down a Radeon 7000, which after tons of messing around...didn't work. The card worked and the system worked, but the game would not...After digging through the game files, I realized the game used DX9...so the next day I got a DX9 card. I want to remind you PCI GPUs are NOT the easiest thing to come across. But luckily I found one at a local shop...they even let me return it after confirming my theory. I finally got the game running...OH I almost forgot...The original Windows XP system wouldn't boot due to what I assume are some driver issues... -- More to come!!!
