I hope this fits here ;)

A long while ago I bought a Sealed copy of said game. Later I found out (On yakumo's website) that there has been two versions of the game. Then, a few days ago browsing sega.jp's dreamcast release list I stumbled upon the game and found the ID's:

    HDR-0025(配布用ソフト) (The pack in one?)
    HDR-0024(販売用ソフト) (The one for sale?)
    http://sega.jp/dc/990005/

I also noticed the cover being different, My version (0025) has a black border while the one Yakumo has displayed has a red border.

Now having found that, is one of these more rare then the other? I cant remember what I payed for mine, maybe 12€ or something. But this is of no importance of me, it is just the curiousity that has driven me to ask you guys :)

Oh yeah, also, does anyone know how exactly they where given away? Where they packed in with the executive box dreamcast's? Curious, curious.

Edit: Duh, I should have tryed reading more of that sega page. So you could apply for a free copy if you had a dreamcast (probably forward your serial number) or did you had to pay 980 yen? :S My japanese sucks and translations make it more confusing.

As far as I know, the Yukawa games that have the HDR-0025 serial were not sold by transmitting the serial number but they were simply put into the boxes before retail as a give-away during a certain period of time in spring 1999. I'm not 100% sure about that, mabye just 95%.

The pack-in version is way rarer IMO. If nothing has changed since last month, the regular version is still (?) for sale on Play-Asia for 10 bucks (new).

The info on the Sega site saying which HDR number were sold and given away are actually back to front.

The one with the black border (HDR-0025) was given away free when people purchased a Dreamcast. It has a blue Not For Sale marking on the spine and rear insert.

The one with the red border (HDR-0024) was sold independently for 980 yen and has no 'Not For Sale' marking.

Weirdly both came sealed with spinecards.

Interesting, the spring-1999 give-away sounds very likely indeed. At least the release date would match this up as well.

    Thanks to both of you!
