so, i bought a cf-ide adapter and put it in my z64 together with a 2gb transcend cf card. the cf card is formatted fat16 and filled with games. when i turn it on it stays on 'MR. BACKUP Z64 V2.20 WAITING....' forever. i tried with the small ide cable that comes with the z64, with a normal long 2 device ide cable (on both plugs), i tried changing the master/slave jumper but all i get is beeps and nothing on the lcd then. maybe somebody here knows whats wrong, thanks in advance!
ok, new try. formatted the cf card again, now it does load up, loads the game to 100%, says turn on n64, but when i do nothing happens?! the exact same file plays fine from zip disk though. weird...
im really stuck on this one, please, somebody, help! edit: it loads the onscreen menu only when both, zip-drive AND cf-ide adapter are connected. when i use goldeneye as bootcartridge and then load the goldeneye rom from the fc card, it plays the rom. but only in this combination, no other boot cart, no other rom. this is getting stranger by the moment. maybe my cf card or cf-ide adapter is knackered. going to get a replacement.
the seller kindly replaced my cf card, now its working with a sandisk ultra II. will now gladly help anyone who runs into problems with their z64.
