I was supposed to dump that game some year ago. But completely forgot about it. But someone over No-Intro asked me if I could. So this is the french version they released here in Québec. It's almost the same translation as the one in France but their is minor change.

That's the weird thing, they didn't change France specific expression. Like "gosse" it still here and word like "furax".

They did minor change that is not related to region specific expression.

    Exemple:

    In france version:

    Arrête de m'embêter!

    In québec version:

    Arrête un peu!

I just found the canadian version is also censored like the US edition. While the french and german editions kept the japanese part with the mermaid having lost her bikini the UK/US version replaced the bikini with a necklace. This also happened with the german and french DX versions. In contrary to the french one the canadian edition also uses the necklace.

I used to have the French version of this game and it actually helped my french a bit :). I remember sword being epee, raft being radeau, etc. I just think it's kinda stupid that they change some of the names of characters and locations to sound more French. It's really confusing.

I agree. Changing Link's name to "François" was a bit much.
