I was just browsing around on the net and came across the wiki page for the House of the Dead series... and what immediately caught my eye was that Zombie Revenge wasn't credited as part of the spin-offs. So I checked the Zombie Revenge page, and of course THERE was mentioned that it definitely is part of the series. What surprised me, was that it also said the PS2 port was planned for release... which I didn't know. But if you take a look at this front cover and the publisher, its demise is pretty understandable. Can anyone shed some light on the stage of completion of this version?
I always thought that this game never deserved such a revoltingly disgusting logo and cover art, as it's quite a good game
"BULLETS! BULLETS! ANTIDOTE! BULLETS!" Damn, I love me some Zombie Revenge on the Dreamcast - the additional boss and fight modes especially have eaten up so much of my time over the years, plus I absolutely adore the fact you got to play through the first level of the original HOTD from a third person perspective. As for the cancelled PS2 version, I seem to recall this being 100% complete and only shelved because Acclaim didn't feel the sales of 18 Wheeler justified them continuing to release Dreamcast ports, with even their previous Crazy Taxi failing to shift large enough numbers. Since the original coin-op was powered by NAOMI hardware and therefore almost flawlessly reproduced on Sega's console, it's not as if there's much reason apart from maybe curiosity for this to ever be leaked, assuming there are even copies floating around in the first place...
Disagree with the former, agree with the latter. The game is so corny that I love the cheesy box art. BOOLITS.
