It's just me or they are being "overused"? It's getting a bit lame. Just read that Call of Duty Black Ops will have a "Nazi Zombies Mode". The game is set during the cold war! That's just stupid! Also, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World has a zombie code, Yakuza 4 now has zombies, looks like GTA IV will have a Zombie DLC mode, ... Apart from games like Left 4 Dead or Dead Rising, everything else seems like a pathetic excuse to cash in on something that's cool at the moment. EDITED: Red Dead Redeption will also will have zombies...
I really hope that they'll at least call it "Commie Zombies" or something. Otherwise, it wouldn't make any damn sense! Yeah, I think the whole zombie thing is a trend. They used to be in survival horror games almost exclusively, but they've found their way into the more popular games. Once interest in zombies fades out, then they'll crawl back into their niche.
In this thread it's suitable the title "Zombies ate my videogames." I will not be surprised if a see zombie versions of some characters from Super Street Fighter IV for download (remember Zombie Iori anyone?). And zombies being the next trend after vampires (ok, I'm overthinking it but you never know). Don't be suprised if you'll hear about the announcement of a live action movie based on a zombie game by Uwe Boll (he's also responsible for the House of the Dead live action movie, btw).
KOF.... ah good times. 1: insert coin 2: left/right , PUNCHES 3: up/down, kicks 4: combination of both in a square motion, and strong kick and punch 5: play at the arcade for 5 hours with a coin, hahaha.
First of all.... Do you even have to ask this?!?! :fresh: Its been lame for awhile, and to be honest any game that has zombie modes in it are jut trying to cash in on the fame. Its not cool at all. Infact, zombies are so uncool now that any game that has them I avoid. (unless the game itself is focused around zombies) Also I am glad you italicized that's as well. QOTM!!
Uwe Boll only did the first one. He did also do the 2 BloodRayne movies, Alone in the Dark, and some others.
Haha that made me laugh pretty good! In all honesty I love me some zombie games/movies, but outside of L4D and Dead Rising it's almost like they're being added just because.
has anyone read the serpent and the rainbow or passage of darkness by wade davis? the zombie genre is pretty stale, id like to see someone try to take it in another direction. no more brain eating zombies basically. a game where the zombie was the unfortunate victim and lead character. you were drugged, buried alive in a shallow grave, only to come to days later and dig your way out. you walk around ostracized from society, friends and family are reluctant to help you as you are now marked as a zombie, you have no more legal right to your land and property. everything is taken from you. suffering from the effects of the drug and brain damage as a result being buried so long without enough oxygen. and then you could attach a story from there that could go one of a number of ways with twists and turns, and bla.
Zombies are good only for being killed. Why should they have a background story? Putting jokes aside, if you want to see zombies with background story then watch Triller Bark at One Piece : http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Thriller_Bark
Damn straight. Putting the humanity into zombies leads to shit like Day of the Dead. I think a lot of the pop-culture staples get overused, not just zombies. Pirates, ninjas, monkeys, etc. Same line as always, though: vote with your wallet.
I would love to see a live action movie based on Pirates Vs Ninja. Or a crossover project (videogame, comic, movie...you name it) with zombies vs vampires where zombies took all over the world and vampires as the previous rulers want to change the situation by fighting back zombies. And we will have people who support either zombies or vampires or none of them. It would be an awesome project, don't you think? Nope? Edit: Damn! There is already a movie like that: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vampires_Vs._Zombies
