2) I know a 3 mode usb drive is required to write boot discs, but I have read conflicting info as to whether or not a USB 3 mode floppy drive will be able to effectively write floppy...

I got a Fresh FT via Yahoo Japan - it's working well, and I have stripped it down and given it a full clean :) I have a keyboard for it, and I am using the SNES mouse with an adapter.

The computer boots the few originals I have, and most burnt CD's with no issues. Very occasionally it seems to not play a CD track in a game, but I have only experienced this one or...

In theory, I could construct a SCART cable to do this - just connect RGB and C-Sync lines according to this diagram:

Would this work like I think it would?

Assuming I wired everything correctly and barring a freak lightning storm, would trying this likely damage...

I was looking at the FM Towns line of systems for collecting games, and I was wondering how hard people think it would be to collect for it? Are the games hard to find/expensive? Would I need to worry about read/write media (Floppies) from dieing? Or are they not generally required for CD-ROM titles?

For that matter, how are the titles lined up for the system? Mostly RPGs? Or more top heavy on arcade games?

Any advice would be appreciated, as I'm kind of a newbie in regards...

I'm toying with the idea of buying an FM Towns Marty console, ideally plumping for a Marty over a Towns II computer because of the shipping costs involved. I was wondering what the difference between the two Marty consoles is? Is one better than the other?

I've also read a bit about some games not working on the Marty, is there a list of games that don't work on it? Also, is it easy to replace the floppy drive belt as I've heard these...
