Hey everyone I have a 1.6 Xbox that is mint case wise but the clock cap is missing and it will power on but not boot, is it because of the cap missing or something else and if it’s the cap what can I replace it with? I do have some caps on my but they would not be the same as what was in there I am sure

Yeah, V1.6 xboxes need that cap and won't boot without it. The original part used was a Nichicon 1.0F 2.5V EDLC - they are not known for leaking and should not require replacement.

In theory, you could replace it with one of the 1.0F 2.5V Cooper Bussman PowerStor caps used on the earlier models and the console should work - but I would recommend only doing this for testing purposes and not for permanent installation due to the well-known tendency of those caps to leak.

This part should be a good replacement - it's rated at 2.7V rather than 2.5V, but that's not a problem.

Is the clock capacitor still required with a hardmodded 1.6?

Yes - the machine won't boot at all if it's missing. Note that if you have one of the Nichicon caps there is no reason to replace it anyway.

    tl;dr:
1.0 - 1.5 Xbox: remove the clock cap (replace if you wish).
    1.6 Xbox: leave the cap.
