Has anybody come across one of these before? When I insert it, I get the BLAZE logo as normal but then get some strange message. Because of that, I tried to flash it with the standard Xplorer FX ROM, but it complains that the cartridge ROM is not large enough to contain it (this one is only 256 KB), as the FX is supposed to have 512 KB. So what am I to do? Would anybody happen to have the correct ROM for this model?

    I may have a correct file, it's a v4.41 rom for v3/fx Xplorer, size is 256kB.
I can't remember if I tried it though...

Thanks for that, it flashed, but I still get the same error upon booting (after flashing the rom):

    0
    No Heap Space Left
    Attempted : 74232127 Bytes
    Heap Len 1146880 Bytes

Any idea as t what the problem is?

SCPH-1000. But I tried an SCPH-1002 with the same results.

Could you not just attach it here, like unclejun did?

I recently got an X-Plorer which works fine; though I haven't tested whether it is 256KB or 512KB (hope it's the latter, since I plan to play around with the ROM).

Anyway, here's a link with some official ROMS for the X-Plorers (including the FX).
The ones indicated for the FX are bigger than 256KB, but according to the chart in that page you should be able to flash a v3 ROM in there (which should fit in 256KB).
There's also X-Flash which can be used to repair broken cartridges and a tutorial on getting Caetla to work in the X-Plorer.
    Code:
    http://www.murraymoffatt.com/playstation-xplorer.html
Also, here's another link with lots of ROMs for different cartridges... most likely they won't work (since most are chinese clones of the AR); just in case you want to try them or something:
    Code:
    http://xianaix.net/museum.htm
    Hope this helps ;)

Hmm, why do you I think didn't do that.
Where do you suppose I upload the 13.6 MB of files too? :banghead:

Why would a 256kb flash update be a 13mb download?

I already have Caetla. Could you please just upload the ROM without any of the "crap" that would just bloat the package.

Xplorer ROM V4.52 for the Xplorer FX.
Xplorer ROM V3.20 for the Xplorer FX.
Xplorer ROM V2.20 for the Xplorer Professional.
Xplorer ROM V2.008 for the Xplorer Standard.

    What one do you want?

The 256kb one for the Xplorer FX? I thought that was clear enough, so whichever ones are 256kb and for the Xplorer FX...

But if you paid attention, there are two versions for the FX. What one would you like?

One is 384 and the other is 310 KB.

Neither of which is 256KB and therefore you do not have what he wanted?

I dunno. Just sharing my files that I downloaded about a year ago...
They are for the XFX though.

Apparently my previous message was completely ignored. All ROMs mentioned by Haunted360 were in one of the links I provided in my post.
You should be able to flash the one for the Standard version in your FX; however you're likely to loose functionality. Also, in that same link I provided there's a tutorial for flashing Caetla into Xplorer (I believe it works for all of them).
FInally, there's the X-Flash which supposedly repairs Xplorer cartridges.

Which is why I said "whichever ones". The S made it a plural, meaning that I acknowledged that you had more than one potentially for my Xplorer FX 256kb model...

But this thread specifically asked for 256kb ROMs, like Bad_Ad84 mentioned. Not larger sizes, as anything over 256kb will obviously not fit in memory that only has a capacity of 256kb. So it should have been obvious looking at the filesize that they would not be of any use to me. Was that really hard enough to understand?
