I got the original realease console. I used it standing up for abit but never felt confortable with it. So now moved to having it flat. Still works perfectly not had a single problem inc read errors.

Truthfuly my launch JPN unit is still fully functional but I worrie it will break some day. Yet maybe mine has been fine since I play on an SDTV. I dout the HW is getting a massive workout over that. :p

No, I got a replacement that was made just a little bit before they put HDMI on all of them, but otherwise, it's fine.

Also, my 360 runs cooler standing up.

Mine has seen like TWELVE of those rings, and keeps coming back to life. I see the message on the screen in several languages, that says that the Xbox needs to be replaced, and all. I just turn it off and back on again, some times once or thrice, and voila, the ring is green again.

Now that the three year warranty has been made official, I'll see if my machine breaks some sort of record before Microsoft Mexico finally has to come to my house and take it.

... a friend of mine says that the machine refuses to die because it's been sent to this world for a specific purpose.

i wonder, sometimes, if his melodrama is somehow correct

Okay I don't know why but I've laughing at that for about 10 minutes solid. I'm a sad strange little man.
