Does Eachgame.com deliver any faster than DealXtreme or are they about the same?

They do a 3-5 day postage (dear), 6-10 day postage (reasonable), or 10-25 day postage (free)! It would just depend on how soon you wanted it really!

Great. Thanks. How are they? Have you ordered from them before?

I sell products on a couple of New Zealand auction sites, one of the products that I sell is the Network Adapter, but I think that it might be too expensive for most people!

People here like cheap auction options (we only have 1.5 million members on one site and 400,000 on the other), so in all honesty I have yet to order from them!

I have ordered other products from another supplier from China and the dilivery time is usually 3-5 days, so I don't see why eachgame.com would be any different!

So if you were to solder an RJ45 socket on to those pads what's the chances of it working? Is this adapter missing ethernet for a good reason, or just out of laziness/cost saving?

Near to zero as it's very likely to be missing the network adapter PHY chip as well.

If it's a cloned network adapter chip and not an real SONY chip it's also possible that there's a mockup of a MAC controller instead of a real MAC controller inside the network adapter controller chip.

In that case populating the board properly would not have any effect, anyway.

It was probably created just to use with HDLoader. But missing the ethernet port kills any possibility of game / homebrew install over network, which is very bad.

Still curious to see it's board compared to an official one.

So, if you're up to use a 2.5 (laptop) SATA HDD, you're better with an original SONY Netowrk Adapter, an PATA-to-SATA adapter and some sort of holding assembly for it instead of that crappy China-quality adapter.

The ones that I can get, use a 3.5" SATA HDD with no modification to the console in any way, I'm just not sure if it actually has the Ethernet Port (it has the yellow sticker), I haven't had to order any yet!

You mean when you swap it with a 1TB drive it works fine? If I had to guess that isn't a power issue its likely a formatting issue. With the XBox you can pop in a 1TB+ drive without issue BUT in order for it to work properly you have to format it with 64kb clusters or else it won't work.

I wouldn't be surprised if a similar problem wasn't cropping up here. Either that or the software you're using doesn't support 48bit LBA properly. Or the file system simply can't address more than 1TB.

I'd wager it's a formatting issue involving cluster sizes though.

    Hey APE,

How would you format a 2TB hard drive for HD Loader PS2?

Would you use Winhiip? Are there any other programs that will properly format a PS2 2TB hard drive?

    Thanks.
