$30 gamecube component cables

    You might try calling them again. I just bought one two weeks ago, of course they could have sold out by now. Plus it's one per household.

    Not just a Toshiba IC, any DAI transmitter will do. That's right your bad.

    Any will do? Is that despite the other post saying that it needs the Toshiba IC specifically? Just wondering. No need to be offensive, we all make mistakes, and I m no exception to that rule :) We're all adults (I guess) and we can all play along nicely I hope ;-)

    Yes, you don't need a specific Toshiba IC, the best choice for S/PDIF transmission would probably be a newer Cirrus Logic (Crystal) IC such as the CS8406.

    If you really wanted to, you could transcode the digital component to digital RGB or scale it for DVI or what have you as well.

    Silly question, but is there a way to mod a newer GC for some High-Def lovin?

    I know that you can send your revision C cube for a fix to nintendo, and they give you a "refurbished" cube. I have no clue if they mod or replace the cube, but it's safe to assume that there's no soldering going on in that old basement they use to fix stuff.
