Where are these pictures? I took some of my trip to the Addison, IL Walmart today... http://home.comcast.net/~doa4/DSC09212s.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~doa4/DSC09156s.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~doa4/DSC09216s.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~doa4/DSC09163s.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~doa4/DSC09152s.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~doa4/DSC09153s.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~doa4/DSC09158s.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~doa4/DSC09214s.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~doa4/DSC09222s.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~doa4/DSC09166s.jpg
Thanks for the pics guys!..... Looking forward to seeing the Xbox360 in person myself.....(even though I feel like the only person on the board to be looking forward to it!)
I played it.. I wasn't blown away it didn't look that much different than current pc games. The thing that wowed me was the dash. and i like the controles of this xbox alot more. Kameo= junk , King Kong =good but still regular xbox could push it, call of duty 2= Nice but still pc can do it.
I'm looking forward to playing it, but not at my local Wal-Mart. The Wal-Mart here smells funny and has some shady customers there. I'll be waiting for one at the local EB Games.
Doesn't every Wal-Mart in America fall into this category of funny smelling and filled with shady customers? Not to mention screaming kids and shuffling old people.
If the Xbox 360's power is as good as a current gaming PC, and is worth $400 where a gaming pc is ~$1000~ plus the fact you must upgrade a lot, Id say... Xbox 360 > PC version
Ours doesnt smell funny. We have screaming kids and shuffling old people though. What is meant by shady customers? People like this?
LMAO.... well that is just one of the many types that fit under "shady customers." Our Wal-Mart has its own security force that patrols the parking lot in two trucks because so many people get their cars broken into there. And then there are the people that you see walking through the grocery section drinking a gallon of milk and the like. I'm not going to even get into the meandering crackheads and other assorted junkies that tend to plague ours. I generally just try to avoid the local Wal-Mart and goto K-Mart instead, nobody is ever shopping there, it's great. Like having the store to yourself.
Hehe, I've seen that sign without the text! In my neighborhood! :smt030 It looks like a person with a stretching bottom lip with an opened demented smile! I don't understand. We must have the best Wal-Mart + Sam's Club in the whole US! Ours is neat, with averge people. Too bad there's no XBOX360! :-(
Most people wont want an expensive gaming PC though. I know it can do a lot of other things, too, but thats irrelevant. This is about GAMING. The fact is, to run the most advanced pc games, you need to upgrade. Often. With a console, you can run the games and dont have to worry if your console can handle it or not, or if the FPS rate will be crappy. I have a $800 PC and it can barely run Halo PC. I just cant justify spending a lot of money on a video card everytime something bigger and better comes out (Which happens a lot) and the best titles usually come to a console anyway. And of course you'll say, "The Pc versions graphics are better!" I dont care. I'd rather have a good graphics game with more room to build on other factors a la Battlefront II, rather than a Extreme Graphics with little room for even multiplayer on 1 screen. Graphics take up a lot of space and some games sacrifice A LOT, just so that their game looks the best. This is my last reply on this subject, since I know you are an avid PC gamer and you wouldnt change for anyone, but Im just stating my opinion. I cant justify upgrading like crazy just so the game looks runs at its best (Which you wont have to worry about on a console).
Yeah, it's a shame about the one close to me. They just spent the past two years giving it a full remodeling and turning it into a Super Wal-Mart. It's a really nice looking store (not to mention HUGE) with tons of great stuff inside, but they always are understaffed so you end up waiting in line a guaranteed half hour if you go in during the day. Not to mention the fact that the customer base didn't change a bit. I might have to go in though and check to see if they've got a 360 in there, I'm dying to get my hands on one... unfortunately I'm a broke college student so it doesn't look like I'll be getting one anytime soon. I'm trying to get one though the one referral site, I still need 6 more referrals though, so it might take awhile for me.
Video gaming is looking pretty dull nowadays. Back then, they would be competition of more than 10 consoles. All we need is Sega to come out of the blue with a new console that can also read Dreamcast, (Mega) CD, Saturn, and genesis carts (including an adapter for SMS/GG carts), which I know would never happen! :smt030 That would be the Sega Revolution instead of Nintendo Revolution!
I'm going to be avoiding most game stores and electronic departments because of this. I want to see the 360 but I'm not interested in buying it, and it's not worth being surrounded by retards just to watch someone play a new system. Geez, I remember when GameCube had the SA2 Battle Kiosk and all these people couldn't get past the freaking platform part near the end of the level....and then these kids would walk off and talk about how awesome Final Fantasy 7 is (and I can garuntee you none of them ever played it). I can't stand how mainstream all the cool crap like games are now.....argggggggggggggggggggggggggg. I especially couldn't stand it when GBA got all popular and all you'd ever hear is freaking kids whining about how they wanted one to play Yugioh or some crap. Freaking kids....ruining GBA............................kfjgkdhdg
Let me tell ya, that is something I have been dreaming of for quite awhile. If Sega released a new console, I think I would be able to die a happy man. I've been a hardcore Sega fan since the Master System was released, and have followed them through every console (except 32x, I just waited and bought a Saturn) and I really miss Sega's presence in the console area. They were always innovative and built quality products as well. Maybe one day our dream will come true...
