-PSP's joystick was fuckawful (haven't tried the Go yet). It was uncomfortable and gritty, placed terribly and frankly a bit too small. As CrAzY pointed out, accuracy was also an issue with it. Plus, was it only me who often suffered from the stick "locking" in certain positions? That little thing was too fragile and finnicky for its own good.
-3DS has a pretty decent joystick. It's a bit slippery, but at least it's concave unlike the PSP's (so it's not uncomfortable) and I've not had problems with it getting locked up or broken over the three years I've had my original 3DS (versus my PSP joystick revealing its crappitude in like four months' time; yes, it was new). When I first got my 3DSXL, I didn't like the feel of the new joystick quite as much as the original 3DS because it felt more... rubbery? After a while, though, I found myself loving the 3DSXL joystick more because my finger didn't slip as easily as it did on the original 3DS' stick.

Ignorant my ares... Just because I got mix up or mistake between Original DS and 3DS. I was referring between 3DS and 3DS XL NOT Original DS from 2005 If you know what I mean.

My daughter used to play 3DS XL and the joystick was little loose and rubber was wearing away quite easily after 7 months. That probably because we enjoyed so much playing Street Fighter 3D.

Some of those are valid points, but Nintendo is also guilty of some of that stuff too. DSi removed the GBA port, GBA micro removed GB/GBC compatibility, 2DS removed 3D, Wii removed gamecube support, then internet support, I still think theres a chance that nintendo will wise up and sell the WiiU with Pro gamepads and a bigger hard drive. So that would be another case of removing stuff.

You must have gotten a different type than I got, because the analog stick cover things I got in a pack like that (I have the d-pad still on my PSP) was completely useless, the entire nub wouldn't stick back in the system.

    *whispers "2DS adapterrrrr"

3ds analog is superior then the PSP stick.I think the PSP sticks is one of the worst analog stick I have used in my life. Uncomfortable and it pisses me off that a lot of games try to force you as default move controls instead of the d-pad.) , but if you are comparing with the vita, then the vita absolutely destroys 3ds' circle pad. But that's not a flat analog stick.

I hate rubberized sticks, pretty soon the finish wears out and you end up with an uneven surface. I ditched a bunch of X360 controllers because the sticks became oval shaped

I wonder if someone makes an even better flat analog...

They should remove the shitty 3D of the 3DS but keep the hinge (2DS is a fucking brick) and go back to wiimotes and classic controllers with the wiiu

    Don't feed the troll...

They already have that... it's called the 3DS. You can turn the 3D off at any time.

True that, I play 3D in my 3DS like 5% of the time, if that.

Usually it's like, oh the 3D in this game doesn't look terrible *switches back to 2D*

3D in 3DS is nothing but a gimmick. Viewing angles are too narrow and it makes picture blurry.

Except I still have to pay for it, the thing could be $99 with a regular LCD instead

Then don't buy it. Your options are: 3DS, 3DS XL, 2DS, or no-DS. The choice is yours!

Personally, I like the 3D effect, and it actually adds to the gameplay of certain games. Some people seem to have an intense hatred of 3D for reasons I can't understand. Then, there are also people who have issues looking at 3D images, because of something about their visual system. I've never had any issues with that - I can even see side-to-side 3D images by crossing my eyes.

The one issue I have with the screen on the 3DS is that, because of its limited viewing angle, it's almost impossible to use the 3D in any kind of moving vehicle like a car or plane. As long as you're stationary though, it's fine.

For people who think 3D is a gimmick or that it'll go away in the future, I would suggest you try wearing an eyepatch over one of your eyes for a few months. While the technologies may change over time, the concept is unlikely to ever go away because A) 3D is part of the fabric of physical reality (space and time) and B) it's a feature of our (and many other animals') visual systems.

For the record: I don't have a 3DS. I had one for a while, and then I sold it so I could buy a computer monitor. I think it was a worthy sacrifice, but I'd like to get another one in the future.

Given that the 2DS (with one big LCD screen instead of 2 smaller ones) is $129, I realllly doubt they could get it down to $99 with the hinge and everything.

Until they can get glasses free 3D without tiny viewing angles, 3D won't work. I think they need to start working on holograms, cause getting 3D on a 2D plane just isn't going to work.

As much as i love sony stuff, i just cant get into their handhelds (mainly play pokemon on handhelds as it is anyway). Have only played a 3DS for about 10 minutes but i remember liking the nub/stick

complete opposite with the consoles, i just can't get into most of nintendo's games. Probably growing up with just a megadrive/genesis then a PS1 has something to do with it
