They're not. Boxs have the NTSC lable on them.. These games make me hungry. I'd like to play Sneak King where your mission (playing as The King) is to sneak up on hungry people. This is marketing at its finest. They got an extra whopper combo meal sold, that's for sure.
NTSC on the label means nothing. It's only region coded if the publisher wants it to be region coded. And the only way to know if it's not is to test it on a foreign region system. -hl718
It says they're $4 when you buy a meal. So really you're paying about $10. So really it's a ploy to get you to buy a happy meal, or whatever their equavalent is.
The only problem that I see is whether or not they are going to limit people to one per value meal purchased. If that is the case, I am only getting the three for myself. I am hoping that they will be willing to sell multiple games per meal.
Over here you can buy all the toys/promo stuff for £4 regardless of buying a meal, so hopefully they will do the same. If not, if someone can give me a definitive price for a meal and the game I will consider buying the meal to get the game.
Meals are typically about $5-6 USD at fast food joints in the US. That would come to about £5-6 sterling for the food + game. One could always buy three meals to get the three games and just give the food to random homeless folks on the street. -hl718
Cheers! Well if someone can let me know for sure if they will or won't sell you the discs seperately I will be in a position to make someone an offer. Seeing as other Brits want them as well, I am sure we can come to a bulk agreement to save money.
I am pretty sure you can buy the toys without buying a meal, or you can at least avoid the 1:1 ratio. When McDonald's had the beanie baby toys, people went around and bought them all from various mcdonalds by getting cheap happy meals and threw away the food. McDonald's relaized this and let you buy them as they were items on the menu. You usually have to buy at least some food though, but you can buy as many different toys they have at that time.
You can buy the game for $4 after purchasing a meal, and I would imagine that you could purchase more than one game.
now if only pepsi would let a update of the pepsiman game come out.i cant help but think it would be perfect on the Wii.
I agree that its a little odd, maybe a little crazy, since that king is like, scary and stuff, but I remember seeing many, many other food related games, like Yo noid and the 7 up dot guy for the NES before.
totally looking forward to sneak king... probably getting a couple of sets. if anyone needs them I might be able to get help them. treasureland wasn't marketed as a fast food promotional item though
The closest you'll get to a "promo" video game (and not one sold at retail price yet featuring food characters) would be Kool-Aid Man. Way back in the day you could send away for a copy of the game with Kool-Aid points. -hl718
Might be good to stock up on these for the next "trade in so many games get one free" deal that comes along.
ign reviewed sneak king... http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/746/746290p1.html they also have a video review of all three of them in the video section.
I saw all 3 games in action recently. Rather impressed the mini bikes runs at 60hz but little sad sneak king runs at 30 (makes it feel a little slugish). Either way for $4, I think all 3 games are worth buying (they're supost to be bi compatible for 360 & xbox). Hahaha, I loved MC Kids actualy. Alot of fun.
Doesn't matter. The american Gears of War has NTSC on it just like many other games that work fine in my European xb360
