I want to let you know that I made updates to 64DD homebrews:

64DDdump 0.56 now supports grey disks (retail drive only) AND blue disks (development drive only). The same homebrew does the work for both.

And I updated 64DD Disk Viewer (previously Block Viewer) to 0.41, also works with both colors of disks for each drives.

You can find both here: http://bsxproj.superfamicom.org/64dd/

Bump: Any update on writing commercial disks? I saw that zoinkity was able to do it will all types of disk images on a blue disk, but I want to make a personal copy of super Mario 64dd.

I may as well give some info: No it's impossible to rewrite a retail 64DD disk without potentially doing significant modifications to the 64DD hardware itself.

That's great news, I hope one day we will have software that can rewrite disks so that if they become demagnetized we can fix them.

No the issue is: We don't even really know what to do to rewrite retail disks.

Do you happen to have a randnet keyboard/mouse test homebrew? I wanna see if i can work backwards from it and do something funky, without butchering the real deal.

No. Unless you give me access to one I can't make one.

I don't have one either unfortunately, but I do have a gamecube keyboard and raphnet adapter. I'm pretty sure it can be coerced into working with a bit of tweaking, I just have no idea how to make it work like the real deal.
