When you were born, you were the:
    4,506,840,886th
    person alive on Earth
    79,128,746,226th
person to have lived since history began

No need to. I think we are long overdue for another Spanish Flu and will probably see something like that in our lifetime.

I just can't help think that there were a few other people born the same day.

This probably deserves a thread of it's own, but do you think it will be natural or a man-made disaster (eg, nuclear)? The population rises partially due to the higher life expectancy, which is partially due to upgrades in medicine, which do away with epidemics. I remember people saying AIDS would wipe out a large portion of the population, and it is to an extent, under control.

Probably a combination of both but who knows.

    Some basic simple ideas.

More People + Less Resources = More War/Population Control
More People + Worse Conditions = More Disease/Population Control
    Whack-Job Cult + Resources/Determination = Designer Virus/Population Control

The fact is there is only so much this planet can offer and with the rate rising as it is a tipping point is inevitable. Sure there are factors such a new drugs or better food production that slows it down but that is a delay at most.

Those ideas all factor people into the mix. Who knows what Mother Nature alone still has up its sleeve.

When you think about all the variables and complexities it is a miracle that we still exist at all.
